Description:

Planning for and responding to disasters is a vital part of a cultural institution’s work. This one-day session includes information on how to plan before a disaster strikes; how to assess risk and prevent disasters from occurring; and demonstrations of recovery activities to mitigate damage from disasters.

Learning Outcome - at the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

Develop a checklist of disaster planning activities
Conduct a facilities risk assessment
Establish a list of salvage priorities
Identify a number of health and safety precautions for disaster recovery activities
List 3 new sources of recovery assistance
Plan disaster recovery activities

Intended Audience:

Anyone who is interested in learning about best practices for emergency preparedness and response.
