Description:

Lyrasis' new Mass Digitization Collaborative offers members the opportunity to contribute materials to a regional mass digitization project. Lyrasis facilitates the process by selecting vendors and developing a collaborative collection development policy, guidelines, standards, and workflows. The Collaborative is funded by the Lyrasis membership and supported in part through a grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. The full project was originally opened to all PALINET members in October 2008.

Intended Audience:

ASERL members who are interested in learning more about Lyrasis' digitization collaborative.

Notes:

This Course is designed for individual participation; each individual must register.

Time: All web-based classes are advertised in Eastern Time.

Technical Requirements:

This session is instructor facilitated and presented in real time.  Participants will attend using their PC, a Web browser, and the telephone.

Technical requirements for attendance:
> Operating System: Windows 2000 (SP4), or XP (SP1 or SP2)
> CPU: P350 MHz
> Memory: 128 MB
> Disk: 40M MB free space
> Monitor: 16 bit colors (high color)
> Pop-up blocking software disabled
> JavaScript enabled in your browser
> The ability to download a small plug-in during initial set-up - you must have administrative rights on your PC
