20 Questions: Ready Reference (Live Online)

This two-hour live online class explores 20 commonly used ready-reference web pages.

Description:

This class offers an introduction to using basic online resources to find quick answers to ready reference questions.

Library users want information fast! This two-hour live online class explores 20 of the most commonly used ready-reference web pages where librarians can find answers to questions like, “Where can I get dry ice in Atlanta?” and who said, “The more things a man is ashamed of, the more respectable he is?" Students will then have the opportunity to explore ready-reference resources further in an after-class exercise.

After this class, students will be able to:

  • Define ready reference
  • Use online tools to organize and access resources
  • Access free, good quality, easy to use online reference resources
