20 Questions: Science Resources (Live Online)

This two-hour live online class explores 20 science information web pages librarians use.

Description:

Accurate answers to tough science questions can be difficult to find. In this two-hour online class, students will explore 20 science information web pages librarians use to find answers to questions like, “Where can I find some ideas for my science fair project?” and, “Where can I find spectral data for organic compounds?” Students will then have the opportunity to explore science reference resources further in an after-class exercise.  


Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this class students will be able to:  

  • Identify quality science reference sites
  • Use science resources to answer specific questions
  • Assist patrons in using science resources to find answers to questions more effectively

Intended Audience:

Reference librarians, researchers, and interlibrary loan staff interested in open access scholarly publications and resources.

Registrations for this class must be received at least one week before the class date. Registrants should receive an email offering detailed login and setup instructions. This course is designed for individual participation; each individual must register.
