Podcasting for Libraries (Live Online)

This two-hour class explores what makes up a podcast, what happens behind the scenes, and how libraries are using it as a promotional tool.

Description:

In this two hour class, students will learn how libraries are using podcasting, a method of creating audio content and making it available via the web and web applications such as itunes.

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of class students will be able to:

  • Define podcasting
  • Understand why and how podcasting fits in with the library environment
  • Understand the basics and tools needed in order to find or create podcasts

Anyone interested in learning about podcasting and how this technology impacts the library.

Registrations for this class must be received at least one week before the class date. Registrants should receive an email offering detailed login and setup instructions. Please call the Educational Services Department at 800.999.8558 if you do not receive this email at least three days before the class. This course is designed for individual participation; each individual must register.
