Web 2.0 Conference

LYRASIS is excited to be sponsoring a one-day conference in September. "Libraries in a Web 2.0 World" will provide practical examples of how libraries of all types are using Web 2.0 technologies and will inspire attendees to try some new things on their own!

Please refer to the links to the left for registration information, to learn more about our speakers and to see the meeting agenda.

Conference:

Tuesday, September 23 – East Bank Regional Library in Metairie, Louisiana

Comments from attendees to a previous Web 2.0 conference:
"I learned a lot from Jenny Levine about how our library can make things more efficient- a lot of things we're doing by hand can be done more quickly. I also saw a lot of "outside the box" ideas that I hadn't though of."

"Most useful to me was Jenny Levine's excellent, idea-filled presentation. I finally "got" how I can use RSS and widgets on my library's website."

"The most valuable part of the conference is that the handouts are available via email while the conference memories are still fresh; great networking; AND good lunch. Ok that's only 3 things, not 23."

The most useful aspect of the conference was:
> "hearing how 2.0 fits in with the cataloging job details."
> "the exposure to the great variety of online forms and how they are impacting the libraries."
> "the scope of the session- from the 2.0 service out there, what's being actively used in libraries, and possible staff training strategies."
