Mass Digitization Collaborative

The Mass Digitization Collaborative offers LYRASIS members the opportunity to have their materials digitized for a low fee. The collaborative's initial focus is on mass digitization of text. Eligible materials include books, serials, microfilmed books, and microfilmed newspapers. Materials must be in the public domain (or have permission from copyright owner) and have metadata to be included.

Cynthia Horne 2 "We were looking for an opportunity to digitize our most important historical documents, our college catalogs and yearbooks, and what we can achieve with the Collaborative will cost us less than half of what it would cost to do it ourselves."

- Cynthia Horne, North Georgia College & State University

W. Virginia University Libraries Working Group "By bringing museums, historical societies, and public and university libraries together, the Collaborative allows us to learn from each other as we make the libraries’ rare and unique treasures available to anyone, anywhere in the world.”
- Frances O'Brien, Dean of Libraries, West Virginia University
