Due to the economic climate and its impact on libraries, LYRASIS has reduced its staff. This decision, although difficult, was based on our ongoing commitment to serve our member libraries and meet their needs while being prudent with member resources. As always, we will continue to carry out our mission to provide collaboration, creative solutions, and leadership for libraries.

Additionally, the executive team has assessed the organizational structure. As a result, we have made changes to improve our operational efficiency and to enhance our ability to better focus on and deliver products and services that support member needs and our strategic plan. Our plan has two primary goals: 1) to transform libraries, operations, and technologies to meet the needs of tomorrow’s library users, and 2) to expand the availability of content while controlling costs for our members.

As part of our commitment to be more cost-effective, we have decided to convert our Northeast regional office in New England to a virtual office. As a result, we will be closing the Southborough, Massachusetts, location by the end of July. Our Northeast staff who have been working in the New England office will now be working from home offices. This will help us create additional efficiencies, while simultaneously providing continuity of our services and programs with an ongoing presence in the Northeast for our members in the region. Timothy Cherubini, located in Williamstown, Massachusetts, is the new Regional Director serving the Northeast region. Tim looks forward to working more closely with Northeast members to understand and meet their needs. In addition, our Northeast region member-facing team remains the same with Sue Wolfman serving as Member Consultant and Maria Brady as Member Support contact. For questions regarding member services, please contact Member Support.

As a member-based non-profit organization created by and for libraries, the success of our members and LYRASIS are inextricably linked. Therefore, we are taking the necessary steps to ensure that we are able to effectively advance libraries together, now and for the future.
