BCR and LYRASIS Explore Closer Relationship
February 2, 2010
I am pleased to report that the Boards of BCR and LYRASIS are in preliminary discussions to identify new programs and services to serve you better. Both organizations have unique programs, services, and staff expertise that would expand the options for each organization’s members. In addition, this represents a great opportunity for LYRASIS members to collaborate with new colleagues and draw on the experience of peers in other regions.
Since its inception in 1935, BCR has been a forward thinking organization that seeks to anticipate the needs of members and adapts quickly to changes in the environment in which libraries operate. Current economic environment has caused both LYRASIS and BCR to examine how we can best provide quality programs and services in the most cost effective way possible. By working together, we have the potential to enhance the services enjoyed by our members while at the same time optimizing cost effectiveness through economy of scale
Thank you for your continued support of LYRASIS. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Sincerely,
Kate Nevins
Chief Executive Officer
