LYRASIS TALKS
ONE
ONE more day to
Lyrasis
ONE
On April ONE,
2009, Lyrasis is launched.
ONE
Two organizations become ONE!
Tomorrow, you
will be a founding member of Lyrasis, the leading regional
membership organization for libraries and information
professionals.
Your Lyrasis experience begins
with our website which offers a variety of features, including
an extensive program of classes and workshops; the largest
array of products and services offered by any library network
at discounted member rates; a job bank of available library
positions in the southeast and northeast regions; expanded RSS
feeds, blogs, and podcasts; and more. The new website goes
live tomorrow at www.lyrasis.org. Please
note that this site will not be available until April 1, 2009. In
preparation for the launch, the SOLINET and PALINET
websites will come down at 5:00 p.m. (EST)
today.
The first issue of the new consolidated
newsletter, Lyrasis News, will arrive in your
email inbox on April 7, with added features, news from the
Lyrasis membership, and the combined job bank. Please add newsletter@lyrasis.org to your email address
book so the Lyrasis newsletter is not routed to spam or junk
folders.

AROUND THE REGION
The March issue of Serials is now available and contains
an article by Tansy Matthews, Associate Director
for the Virtual Library of Virginia titled Where
Does it Come From? Generating and Collecting Online Usage
Data: An Update. Congratulations, Tansy!
Due to
system migrations at SOLINET, a part of the address for ASERL
listservs has changed. The first part of the list names will
remain the same; however, the last part of the list name will
change from “@solinet.net” to “@aserl.org.” If you route ASERL
listserv messages into email folders, or if your institution
has a strict SPAM filter, you may need to make modifications.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact John
Burger.
The OCLC Review Board of Shared Data Creation and
Stewardship invite you to participate in a web-based survey. The primary goal of this
survey is to gather input from both OCLC members and
non-members about a proposed OCLC policy, Policy for Use and Transfer of WorldCat
Records. Please complete the questionnaire online by April 8, 2009. The confidentiality of your
responses will be protected. Your questions and comments are
welcome. You may send them to the Review
Board
