Overview
In the fall of 1984, SOLINET received a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to establish a preservation field services program for the Southeast. Through Field Services, LYRASIS will continue to help educate staff in libraries and archives about preservation as a cost-effective collection management tool. With continued support from NEH, Field Services is the oldest such program in a bibliographic network. With two Field Services Officers, service is provided to more than 800 cultural heritage institutions in the Southeast, as well as institutions in other parts of the country and worldwide.
