The Mass Digitization Collaborative offers LYRASIS members the opportunity to have their materials digitized for a low fee. The collaborative's initial focus is on mass digitization of text. Eligible materials include books, serials, microfilmed books, and newspapers.

The Mass Digitization Collaborative offers LYRASIS members the opportunity to have their materials digitized for a low fee. The collaborative's initial focus is on mass digitization of text. Eligible materials include books, serials, microfilmed books, and newspapers. Materials must be in the public domain (or have permission from copyright owner) and have metadata to be included.

Currently pricing is subsidized thanks to generous support of the Sloan Foundation through January 2011.

Pricing includes a suite of services:

  • Digitization of materials
  • Hosting and preservation of digital files
  • Assistance with selection and project coordination
  • Access to collaborative tools to support your efforts
  • Access to portal – documents updated regularly
  • Lists of materials in progress
  • Tools to help you track project progress (under development)
  • Access to LYRASIS community of digitization
