Supporting Student-Parents with Family Friendly Spaces at Academic Libraries
Live Online $50.00 / $75.00

Description:

Student-parents and caregivers face unique challenges accessing academic library spaces, which are often not designed with this population in mind. In this session, we will explore the needs of student-parents/caregivers and discuss how creating family friendly spaces, collections, and services can support these patrons. Practical advice will be given for creating your own family friendly space.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this class, students will be able to:

Understand the needs of campus caregivers as they relate to academic libraries.
Identify potential campus partners who can assist in supporting efforts related to campus caregivers.
Evaluate their own campus supports for campus caregivers in light of suggested interventions.
