The Palace Marketplace provides libraries the opportunity to take more control of their ebook purchasing experience. The only non-profit econtent marketplace of its kind, we’ve advocated for fairer licensing models with dozens of publishers including Amazon Publishing, Audible, and Blackstone Audio. In this session we’ll describe the unique licensing models available and how libraries can utilize them to increase access to diverse titles without increasing their budgets. We’ll provide a demonstration of the Palace Marketplace, show how to sign up for a Marketplace account, and discuss the no-fee collection development support offered to partner libraries. Join us to learn how libraries are getting “more bang for their book” with the Palace Marketplace!
By the end of this class, students will be able to:
Identify how to sign up for a Palace Marketplace account
Identify how to search, use and purchase content from the Palace Marketplace
Discuss the various licensing types available for digital content purchased from the Palace Marketplace.
Articulate how favorable licensing models can support access and growth of diverse collections
