Hagar, Chris

Chris Hagar is an independent disaster information consultant. She holds a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Hagar is an Associate of the Development & Disaster Centre, Northumbria University, UK. Formerly an Associate Professor at the School of Information, San Jose State University, her research focuses on information needs and information seeking in crises; disaster health information, and roles for information professionals in crisis preparedness and response. She has presented at many international disaster conferences, including the United Nations Disaster Office for Disaster Risk Reduction, Science & Technology Conference on the Implementation of the Sendai Framework (2016, Geneva).
