North American Women's Letters and Diaries is the largest electronic collection of women’s diaries and correspondence ever assembled. The collection contains more than 150,000 pages of women’s writings from Colonial times to 1950, including 7,000 pages of previously unpublished manuscripts.
This collection presents the views of 1,500 North American women from all walks of life capturing a range of personal experiences and historical events in the United States and Canada. The inclusive series was drawn from more than 1,000 sources, including journal articles, pamphlets, newsletters, monographs and conference proceedings.
