Oral History Online provides in-depth indexing to more than 2,700 collections of Oral History in English from around the world.
The Oral History Online database provides detailed indexing of oral history collections written in, or translated into English. The index continues to grow with regular releases, and web links to associated text and audio are included where possible. The database also includes tens of thousands of pages of full text, including 40,000 pages of Ellis Island oral histories, exclusive Black Panther Party narratives and other unique content.
Oral History Online is an Alexander Street Conductor™ which allows you to carry out a unified search across all available resources in the subject area. You can search freely available oral histories on the Web, along with a variety of proprietary databases, including all the Alexander Street collections that contain full-text oral histories. The Conductor will orchestrate the search results into one, unified results set.
The Oral History Online Conductor will also point to full-text collections in Alexander Street’s Oral History Series, to oral histories on the Web with Semantic Indexing™ and to other relevant materials.
