CDAI All Catalogues

Cahiers d’Art Institute (CDAI) is a publisher of digital catalogues raisonnés of leading 20th and 21st artists and architects. The CDAI All Catalogues subscription grants access to all of CDAI's artist catalogues raisonnés, updates to those catalogues, and any new catalogues published during the subscription period. Though it was originally produced in book form, the information in a catalogue raisonné is constantly in flux and cannot achieve both completeness and accuracy. So, the CDAI was conceived to resolve this problem offering a solution that is more accessible, flexible, time/cost-efficient, accurate, and up to date than the traditional printed counterpart. The database features a library of catalogues raisonnés, which are the definitive, comprehensive, and annotated compilation of all the known works of an artist. It currently includes 8 artists' catalogues with more forthcoming.

Each CDAI catalogue raisonné entry includes images of the artwork; basic cataloguing details, including titles, dates, and materials; and information about the work's provenance, exhibition history, publication history, and related artworks. The CDAI catalogues raisonnés also contain comprehensive bibliographies, exhibition lists, essays, and additional editorial content ranging from chronologies of the artist's life to original writings by the artist to audio and video archives.

The CDAI database currently includes the following catalogs:

  • Chuck Close: Paintings
  • Jim Dine: Sculpture, 1983-present
  • Tim Hawkinson
  • Sol Lewitt Wall Drawings (Including Complete Writings/Interviews)
  • Agnes Martin: Paintings
  • Agnes Martin: Works on Paper
  • Lucas Sameras: Boxes
  • James Siena
