Scite.ai is a next-generation tool for qualitative citation analysis.
Launched in 2018, Scite uses artificial intelligence to determine whether scholarly articles mention, support, or contrast the claims of each cited article. Scite also displays all in-text citations and distinguishes if the citation was made in the Introduction, Methods, Results, or Discussion Section. Scite helps expand research assessment beyond raw citation counts as a proxy of quality for researchers, journals, and institutions. With 1.2 billion citations in its database, Scite supports research excellence, literature reviews, promotion/tenure reviews, and discovery of relevant resources.
Scite is available for annual or multiyear campus-wide subscriptions for Lyrasis members. Lyrasis has negotiated a robust license agreement and member discounts of 40% to 70% off list price.
Product Description
Scite is a Smart Citation index. It uses machine learning to help students and scholars discover and understand research articles. Smart Citations contextualize articles in the wider scientific literature and indicate whether each article provides supporting or contrasting evidence.
Scite’s database contains over 1.2 billion citations, many more than Scopus or Web of Science. Researchers can check Smart Citation metrics at the level of articles, journals, organizations, and funders. Scholars can run reference analyses on their own papers. Students can ask research questions in plain language and get answers directly from the full text of research articles. A browser extension enables users to see Smart Citations anywhere they're reading a scientific article online. Major publishers now display Smart Citation badges on their websites.
Scite Assistant, developed by Scite, is an AI-powered research tool that helps researchers to digest scientific literature. It can automatically extract key information from papers, such as research questions, methods, results, and conclusions.
A Brooklyn-based startup, Scite has received grant funding support from the
National Science Foundation and the
