Lyrasis continually strives to find creative opportunities for our diverse membership to support Open Access (OA) publishing efforts that meaningfully align with their respective missions.
To this end, Lyrasis has negotiated an opportunity to support the fully OA ebook publishing of content at Springer Nature and possibly other future publishing partners that aligns with the
United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Goals are an urgent call to action for all countries to ensure peace and prosperity for all people and the planet into the future.
Lyrasis has collected funds to publish forthcoming OA ebooks in the SDG Series that align with at least one or more of the following five SDGs:
- SDG5: Gender and Equality
- SDG9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
- SDG12: Responsible Consumption and Production
- SDG13: Climate Change
- SDG16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions
As of September 2023, due to the investment of Lyrasis members, five titles are fully available OA. The final title is forthcoming.
- A Climate of Justice: An Ethical Foundation for Environmentalism by Marvin T. Brown, University of San Francisco, US
- Police Code of Silence in Times of Change by Kutnjak Ivkovic et al., Michigan State University, US
