The
Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB) and
OAPEN Library are not-for-profit foundations that have been in operation for more than ten years, working together to support the transition to Open Access for books.
- DOAB aggregates metadata for around 50,000 peer-reviewed OA books and chapters from over 550 publishers worldwide.
- The OAPEN Library hosts about 20,000 peer-reviewed OA books and chapters generating more than 11 million downloads annually.
Both foundations rely on contributions from research institutions, funders, and publishers to carry out their mission and are seeking the library community’s help to sustain their services.
