Adam Matthew Socialism on Film

AM Digital Socialism on Film: The Cold War and International Propaganda is a collection of documentary, newsreel and feature films that reveal the world as seen by Soviet, Chinese, Vietnamese, East European, British and Latin American film makers. It ranges from the early 20th century to the 1980s and takes in the themes of War & Revolution, News & Current Affairs plus Culture & Society.

Sourced from the British Film Institute (BFI), this project makes available the ETV-Plato Films collection put together and distributed by the British communist Stanley Forum in the years after World War II. This collection will be of interest to anyone studying 20th century history, the Cold War, propaganda, economic history, international relations, social and cultural history, diplomacy, media, communications and journalism, gender history, or military history.
