The
Project MUSE Journals Premium Plus Package provides access to a large bundle of titles that are part of the journal hosting program on the Project MUSE platform. These titles are not included in any of the MUSE Journal Collections, and are only available for institutional subscription on MUSE as single titles, or via a subscription to the new Premium Plus Package (first introduced in 2022). Libraries that subscribe to both the MUSE Premium Collection of journals, and this Premium Plus Package add-on, will have access to current content, plus all available backfiles, for all but a handful of the journals on the MUSE platform.
All journals in the MUSE journal hosting program are peer-reviewed and come from not-for-profit scholarly publishers, including university presses, scholarly societies, university departments, and independent scholar-led journals. The journals cover a wide range of humanities and social science disciplines, and provide additional depth and breadth of coverage in many core subjects when combined with one of MUSE's large interdisciplinary journal collections.
The Premium Plus Package is offered at a 5% discount from the sum of the individual subscription fees for the included titles. Subscriptions run on a calendar year term (January 1 - December 31), with fees for any subscriptions that begin after January 31 prorated by the number of months remaining in the current year. Access to titles in the current year package will be provided immediately upon order processing, access for orders for the upcoming year's package will begin on January 1.

- A subscription to this package is covered by the Lyrasis Project MUSE Journal Collection Subscription License.
- COUNTER-compliant usage statistics, holdings information, and other tools to manage the Premium Plus Package subscription are available in the MUSE Library Dashboard, just as they are for the curated MUSE Collections.
- MUSE provides Premium Plus Package metadata to all major library discovery services, making it easy to enable discovery of the journals in the package.
- MUSE expects to release details annually about the upcoming year's Premium Plus Package on the same cycle as renewal details for our curated Journal Collections. Their objective is that libraries subscribing to a MUSE Journal Collection and the Premium Plus Package should be able to renew these subscriptions at the same time, through the same channels.
- All of the journals in the Premium Plus Package are also available for single title institutional subscriptions.
The annual subscription term runs from January 1 through December 31. Prorated subscriptions are accepted during the year.
Lyrasis has negotiated a central license with the best possible terms. Participating institutions placing new orders will be asked to agree to abide by the terms at that time.
