Oxford Bibliographies Online

Oxford Bibliographies Online (OBO) is a tool designed to help busy researchers find reliable sources of information in half the time by directing them to exactly the right chapter, book, website, archive, data set they need for their research.

Oxford Bibliographies Online is an innovative resource designed to help students find reliable sources of information, significantly reducing research time by directing them to exactly the right chapter, book, website, archive, or data set they need for their research. Wherever possible, Oxford Bibliographies Online links directly from the citation to the full text of work cited in the library catalog, WorldCat, or Google Books to make certain that the user is not dead-ended when trying to access a cited work.

  • Each individual entry within OBO provides a guided tour through the key literature on a specialized sub-topic. Annotations indicate what is included in the work, and provide guidance as to how this resource will aid your research.
  • Includes cataloging of non-print material, especially online resources.
  • Intuitive linking throughout quickly delivers the user from a citation to full-text content, whether online or available through a library’s catalog.
  • All entries are double-peer reviewed and board-vetted.
  • At launch, each subject module will include over 50 entries, with an additional 50-75 entries added each year over the course of three updates. Each entry will have a formal review by the Editorial Board once a year to ensure that it remains up-to-date.
